Senior Sound Designer
Stephen Mo is a Korean-Canadian sound designer and sound effects recording artist working across film, games, and animation. He began his career by contributing to sound development for the Tony Hawk’s Skater Pro Skater series (EA Black Box) in 2007–2008. He later worked on major titles including EA Sports FC Online, as well as Valve’s Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2, participating in their sound development.
He then spent over 13 years at Nexon Korea as a Sound Director, where he contributed to dozens of game projects. His notable works include KartRider and the MapleStory franchise. At Mintrocket, he served as the Sound Director for Dave the Diver, where he played a significant role in both composition and sound design.
He studied classical composition and classical piano at the University of Calgary, with a minor in Japanese. Over several years, he worked as a piano instructor at The Royal Conservatory of Music, helping many Canadian students prepare for their RCM examinations. After graduating from Vancouver Film School with a focus on sound design, he began his career in game audio.
Fluent in both English and Korean, he is known for delivering exceptionally high-level sound design. Having played key roles in major projects, he now focuses primarily on field recording and continues to research and refine advanced sound design and recording techniques.
