mifumei is a Japanese composer, arranger, and DJ. He began his music career at CAPCOM, where he worked on sound production for arcade games and pachislot/pachinko machines. He later joined Bandai Namco Studios, contributing music to a wide range of major titles including the THE IDOLM@STER series, the TEKKEN series, ACE COMBAT 7, and Taiko no Tatsujin.
For TEKKEN 8, he served as Music Director, overseeing the game’s overall musical direction, while also contributing as Lead Composer. In this role, he created a diverse range of tracks that helped define the game’s world and identity, including its memorable theme music.
Now working as a freelance composer, mifumei also remains active as a DJ, performing mainly at events in Tokyo. Since going independent, he has continued to broaden his creative scope both domestically and internationally, providing music for international titles while also expanding into other media fields, including VTuber projects such as hololive English.
Rooted in electronic music, his sound is known for its distinctive edge and infectious catchiness. Backed by his experience as an in-house game composer, he brings a high level of versatility and responsiveness to each project. At the same time, he channels a wide range of musical influences into a sound that is unmistakably his own, spanning everything from cinematic tracks to character-driven music.
