Composer, Music Director
Michael Choi is a Korean-American composer and music director for film, animation, games, and new media. His bachelor studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago introduced him to fine arts, film production, animation, new media, performance art, and he further completed a Master's program in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain in 2017.
Michael has contributed to 23 diverse film, TV, and game projects since 2014, including "Dolphin", "AI HER", "Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons", "Fallen" (Jury Award recipient at Fantasporto festival in Portugal in 2020), and "Mother, Flower", directed by Eunhye Hong Kim, a prominent director at CalArts, which was screened at the 12th annual Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (SESIFF). Furthermore, he passionately incorporates traditional Korean music into his compositions for various projects, such as Naver Webtoon's "Barkhan" and PBS's "Sesame Street," aiming to conduct fresh genre experiments and create cinematic sensibilities in his music production.
